A huge step mobilizing the empathy borne of education and exposure to incarcerated artists into political action comes from centering incarcerated voices in honest conversations about incarceration in schools and universities. For this reason, Prison Renaissance has established a university chapter at Stanford.

We brought together an interdisciplinary group of Stanford undergraduates, graduate students, staff, and faculty who collaborate with incarcerated people over the phone and in visiting rooms to produce an annual zine. Learn more about this project in the student produced documentary here.
