About the Artist: Lamavis was born in Long Beach, CA and was raised in Compton. He started drawing in 1998 at the request of his parents, and later, in 2018, started painting while in prison. He says, “Art is when wisdom of life meets the divine, because it allows me to show the gift God gives.” His work has been featured at Derby University (2108,2019); UCLA (2018); SFO (2018); Marin County Fair (first place winner, 2018); Public Policy Institute (2018), Marin County Court (2018), and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals (2019).
